This page is the point of entry for my existing DPT students’ to have an interactive, on-demand, evidence-curated information, and practice of the elements of acute care that require an algorithmic approach.
This is vitally important to the analytical process of differential diagnosis, and approach to the patient with symptoms & signs of disease that does not have a black & white scenario or solution. This aspect of practice, as seen in acute care models, requires, not just the highest level of training, but before that, it requires the learning of a thinking process.
Whys? What if? How about? These questions change our perception of the patient’s clinical manifestations, and lead to re-evaluating perspectives that underlie the symptoms & signs.
A web-based approach is therefore a strong 21st-century alternative to educate students in analytical thinking.
Through directed links, I will help you explore specific knowledge in the areas of fundamental medical sciences of Physiology, Pathology, Pharmacology, Differential Diagnosis, and Documentation for Acute Care, to help you prepare for your boards, and your early years of practice.
