Human Pathology is a complex and vast subject. There is no one way to learn pathology. For the seasoned professional or the new student, Medical Pathology is daunting.
There are disorders, and syndromes, but to understand them you may encounter terminologies, that by themselves require a significant understanding. For example, while learning anemia, you may encounter a term “erythropoietin”, or “cyanosis”, and to understand further, you will need to understand what those terms are. It requires an explanation that needs the teacher to deviate from the main topic at hand, (in this case “anemia”).
This can confuse a student if the teacher proceeds without explaining the terminology, but if they do not, and assume that student is familiar already, it can leave the student wondering.
There can certainly many ways to teach. The common approach is to use PowerPoint(R) to deliver the content. But with diversity of information, I have found PowerPoints(R) having some serious limitations in teaching such diverse topics. I have now instead switched to using a different technology to teach.
Sways are web-based products that work similar to webpages, but also can be made to look like powerpoint slides. Numerous different Sways can be interlinked and embedded within a Master to collate the information together. And for the student, it can be seamless by exporting the Sway into Microsoft Word, or PDF formats for studies & notes.
For a quick study on how the Sways work, check out this example of a Sway here:
